In reference to my previous post about an Evite alternative, let me assure everyone that I don't plan on using Evite this time around. The post was prompted by the fact that, after creating a new e-mail address to cut down on spam, a friend just sent me an Evite using that new address. Naturally, I'm a bit irked, even though the friend was well-intentioned. I am sensitive to the fact that others don't wish their e-mails entered into Evite's database either. My careless throwaway line about having to use Evite was not at all a promise that I will use Evite if I don't find an alternative. I just really don't want to spend my evening coding a new website to keep track of responses to an invitation I am preparing. Reinventing the wheel is not high on my list of priorities.

You play flag football? I thought I saw a post to that effect not too long ago. A good friend of mine who recently moved back to the area from Maryland is interested in finding a game or league and I told him I'd ask you about it. can you offer any thoughts?
Thanks!

Re: Off Topic
We play every Sunday during football season (and sometimes beyond) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on the field across from the elementary school on Eastern Ave in Arlington. (You can actually MapQuest Eastern Ave in Arlington to see the field.) We'd be happy to have him. There's an e-mail list as well, if he wants to get added, in which I send out a recap of the previous week's action and talk up the next game. We do play with flags, although there is contact along the line of scrimmage. There are no set teams -- we just divide up whoever shows into teams. Hopefully he'll join us.
