I have this vague recollection that I offered to give someone a book last night (one of the most innocuous things I've offered after having consumed a pitcher of sangria and a bottle of Asti spumante unassisted), but I can't remember to whom or what book. Was it you, mdm_sosostris, and was the book Stranger in a Strange Land? Can someone jog my memory?

I think I was digging around for The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, but I'd read Stranger if you've got it. Oh, books. Just can't get enough of that wacky word-crack.

If I read Moon before I leave, you can have it, but I'm not confident in my ability to finish it before I leave. You're welcome to Stranger if you want it.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is an easy read- and a very very enjoyable one. It would be a excellent choice to put on your 20-books-before-london list.

Well, I do have a copy of it on my bookshelf. Remember, though, what is an easy read for you is not necessarily one for me. Based on it's length, it would probably take me at least a week to read it. I might opt for shorter things to fill up the 20; or I might not. We'll see what I'm in the mood for after I finish the quickies that are in queue.

Definitely find a copy of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress to read. I would loan you mine but I only have one left, my nice one, having leant out all 5 or 6 of my others and never gotten them back, which is fine.

It's, in my humble opinion, Heinlein's best book.

And I've read them all.

Twice.

Or more...

You better come to my place and take a look at my books before they disappear!

BTW, both surrealestate and minkrose grabbed books. They came and kept me company when I looked in on Ozzie, Myles, and Keiko, and I told them they could help themselves to the books on the floor.

they're Ozy (short for Ozymandius) and Miles, not that it matters :-)
Glad that some more of my babies have found good homes.

Figures I should get Keiko right and misspell the other two! ;)
