I took a trip to the big Tesco on Kennington Lane today. (It turned into a much longer trip than planned, since I got on the wrong bus and then took a few wrong turns on foot when I "recognized" certain landmarks—at least I got some exercise out of the deal!)

I purchased a couple of bottle of "Orange, lemon & pineapple squash Contains 10% fruit no added sugar" mostly because I wanted the two 1-litre bottles. Ohmygosh, this stuff is nasty! Way too sweet! I drank almost half, then topped off the bottle with water. Then I drank half of that and topped it off again. At 25% dilution, it still tastes as sweet as if I'd just opened it! I wonder when the overpowering sweetness will diminish.

Oh dear!

"squash" is normally watered down at least 4 to 1, and often much, much further. The idea is to use just a bit of it to flavor a good deal of water, to make for a light, refreshing drink. I know student groups who make two 1-litre bottes of squash go for an entire term of weekly meetings.

Yeah, what pinkfish said. You must dilute it. Normally you might put a splash (perhaps 1" of squash) in a tumbler and fill with water. If that's too dilute you can then experiment until you find the proportion that's best for your taste. Had I don't what you did, I'd now be dead after a diabetic coma.

The only bus here that goes to that Tesco is the 196. You take it right next to Witherspoons pub and there's a stop right there. A better Tesco is on Old Kent Road. Take a 168, 453, 53, 63 from right outside the house and it's about 4-5 stope (you can't miss it). Bigger and better selection. It's also walkable (but ask for directions if you want to go there as there is a confusing bit).

I really need to be a better spell-checker. It's "Had I done what you did..." in line 3, and "stops" not "stope" in line 3 of paragraph 2.

Back to our regularly scheduled programme.

Thing to note is that in England, they use real sugar - not corn syrup - in their products. It's noticeably sweeter and less cloying. I realize that particular brand says no added sugar, but it's still something to keep in mind (and in some cases, enjoy).
