Ok, so I admit, I know nothing about soccer, er, um football. But I do have a question for you...

rmd is looking to help some friends of hers to locate a car in the UK. As she wrote to me "anybody know someone selling a car (a car with less than a litre of displacement, in particular) in the UK?"

Now, I thought of all the usual, ebay.co.uk and all that, but I thought you might know if there is a local "craig's list" equivalent there?

I lived in a Brazilian part of Revere during the last Cup. I watched the games as always and ran out the door to Mass right after Brazil wrapped things up. We could hardly heard the Mass with all the shouting and honking and celebrating in the streets that morning.

Italy doesn't make it into the round of 16?

They'd get lynched back home! They're still grumbling over their 1994 loss to Brazil on penalty kicks in the final.

Italy is in disarray because of injuries and a scandal that has plagued Italian soccer. They are in the second most difficult group. Conceivably, all 4 teams in their group (Italy, USA, Czech Republic, and Ghana) are good enough to be in the final 16, but USA and Czech Republic should be the two that advance.
