I don't know how real this is or whether it was staged, but it's cute and reminds me of Tweety & Sylvester.

Bird
The bird was grooming the cat, not trying to wake him. Most animals appreciate being groomed. Many creatures will groom even members of other species. Some fish make a living of cleaning and grooming much larger fish of other species and rarely get eaten or hurt.

Did you click through the entire series of photos? There's nothing remarkable about just the first one.

Yes, I looked at all seven photos.

When I was a kid we had budgies, sometimes several at a time. They were cheap, low maintenance and amusing. They love to groom things: each other or us, anything with fur or feathers. Give them a small mirror and they'll try to romance or groom the bird in the mirror.

What I found amusing about the photos was the suggestion that the bird led the cat into the cage, where it was then trapped, which is why it felt Tweety-and-Sylvester-esque.
