People often used to get into these computer wars back in the days when Usenet (remember Usenet?) was king. It seems that some people confuse their computer with their religion. When that happens, they feel the need to proselytise their friends and acquaintances as to the telative superiority of their own computer over the inferiority of their friends' and acquaintances' choice of computer.

Computers are tools. You use what works for you. If anyone were to ask my opinion, I'd say that PCs work for me. As to what would work for them, I haven't a clue.

Operating Systems
Haiku, the free, open successor to BeOS, is in Alpha release. I plan to buy the CD when it becomes available. I always liked BeOS and was very disappointed when the company failed.

"What operating system do you use, Windows or Mac?"

"No ... ."

"Or Linux?"

"No ... ."

"Do you even know what an operating system is?"

"Yes. I use Haiku."

"WTF is Haiku? I never heard of it."

"It's the latest version of BeOS."

"WTF is BeOS? I never heard of it."

"It's not Windows. It's not Mac. It's not Linux. It's not based on any of them. It's a different operating system."

"You must be out of your skull."
