I'm going to London

No, I haven't heard back from David Pollard, the voice teacher, yet. But fuck it. I'll be waiting for ever if I'm not more proactive. I'm going to fly out there and take a chance. If he turns me away, he turns me away. If he's unavailable, I'll explore other possible options out there. I'll probably decide to make a day or two visit to Paris as well. I'll have to see what my finances and the itinerary allow. JC and I discussed it this afternoon, and we've decided to go after the election for a week to a week-and-a-half.

If the election goes the way one might fear, I can totally understand leaving the country afterwards. But in that scenario, going with JC sort of defeats the point.

One of the keys to getting along with JC is to completely avoid the subject of politics! ;)

You mean, you don't think that JC wouldn't spend the entire 5 hour plane trip either a) moaning about how Bush lost or b) crowing about how Bush won entirely unbidden?

I plan on taking a few books and several crossword puzzles and making it very clear that I'm not supposed to talk on planes because it's not good for my singing voice. Plus, we always have football to argue over.

Maybe you should bring earplugs for you and a gag for him.

Ah, yes. London. You were silent on the subject for so long I had quite forgotten about it.
