The arrangements for London have been made. JC and I leave the morning of November 3 and return a week later, November 10. We'll be staying at the Strand Palace, which I've been told is in a fairly central location. Thanks to JC's research, we were able to keep the total cost of airfare and accomodations under $1000.

I will continue to try to contact David Pollard, but if I don't get a hold of him before I leave, I'll simply show up at his school and hope he doesn't turn me away.

I'm trying to see if it's feasible to fit in a day trip to Paris as well. Any advice on that?

Stay in England is my advice.

Paris is worth much more than a day and the several half-day's you will spend getting there. Save that for another time when you can spend at least few days there.

There is a lot to do and see in London. If London doesn't have enough appeal to you for a week (and it's not even a whole week with travel time) there are lots of nearby places to go to that are very interesting.

I see a bad movie plot here. You will spend lots of times/ways to try officially meet with David Pollard but don't succeed each one turning into a larger dissaster. You actually meet him in some odd circumstance say at the Tower of London where you don't know that it is he and manage to make a bad impression on him. The next day you finally give up and go to the airport to return home. While waiting to go through security some mishap occurs and you get taken to the security room. There you discover that the one of other persons waiting is the guy you saw at the Tower of London who sneers at you when he recognizes you. A converation between this person and someone else makes you discover he actually is David Pollard. He is listening to his iPod but pulls out his earjack for a moment to speak to someone on his cell phone. While doing this you pull the headphone jack out of his iPod and plug it into yours which has your new audition track on it. He puts the earjacks back in he hears it and turns to you and.....

Forget Paris. Concentrate on London. You should find enough of interest there.

Yeah, that's what we've decided to do.
