Well, the Padres are all but mathematically eliminated with their frustrating 4-1 loss to the Giants. (Frustrating because of so many missed opportunities, such as not being able to score a runner after he hits a lead-off triple.) If the Padres win their last 3 (against the Diamondbacks in Arizona, so very doable) and the Giants (playing at the Dodgers) and the Astros (hosting the Rockies) lose their last three, the Padres tie for the wild card. Yeah, it's not gonna happen. So I gotta join y'all and start rooting for the Cubbies now.
