I showed up early to do a sound check on the mic I'll be using off-stage, to make sure I'm not too loud. The sound guy told me they didn't need to run the test, though, so I decided to see if I could find a wireless signal.
Obviously, I found one. But the network connection is encrypted. Unlike Starbucks, though, I didn't have to pay to register. I simply filled out a form with my name, e-mail, phone, reason for being on the MIT campus, and number of days I'll need access to the network, and voila! I like this system. It affords MIT's network a measure of protection without applying financial restrictions to internet access.
So here I am, happily blogging away, waiting for the performance to start in 45 minutes. I just saw hyounpark walk in wearing his tux and with a cello strapped to his back. He likes my casual dress far better, but I remarked that he looks far more dapper than I.
I don't have much more to say...just wanted to comment on the coolness of finding a signal I could use. I'd better go warm up now. Merde and toi toi toi!
