Who else do you know who blogs before and during a performance he is in? Can't you just imagine me, during my debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Mozart's Figaro, posting journal entries when I'm not on stage?
The orchestra is tuning. Act I is about to begin. The remainder of last night's show went well, for the most part. Yes, Don José cracked very audibly in the last few minutes of the opera, but of well....
Afterwards the cast, crew, and orchestra gathered for a small reception. I didn't get home until after 4 a.m., so I am dragging today. I did pick up a new nickname, though: I am "Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Production."
Overture just started. Time for me to find my score and get ready.
