I forgot to comment on my recent reading. I finished Ben Mezrich's Bringing Down the House a couple of nights ago. I actually stayed up until 4 or 5 finishing it. Fun, easy read.

I wanted to read something Christmas-y next. I scanned my bookshelves looking for something appropriate, and -- voila! -- there it was: Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Perfect! Also included in the volume were other Victorian fairy tales: "The King of the Golden River" by John Ruskin, "The Rose and the Ring" by William Makepeace Thackeray, "The Light Princess" by George MacDonald, and "Mopsa the Fairy" by Jean Ingelow. They sound quite interesting. I'm especially interested in the MacDonald, the Scottish writer/philosopher who quite probably was C.S. Lewis' favorite writer and was featured in The Great Divorce. Other than MacDonald and Thackeray, I know practically nothing about the others beyond name recognition. Nonetheless, it sounds like perfect reading for the next few days.
