Me

(no subject)

Are there any careers out there that involve reading fascinating books and playing games and sports? That's all I want to do for a living.
Me

Killed two birds with one stone last night. I had an appointment for a massage. I brought my own music. She worked me for two hours, and I got to listen to Mstslav Rostropovich playing Bach's Unaccompanied Cello Suites. Pampered myself and got to listen to great music. What more can I ask for?

Just Missed

Since both my bosses and my supervisor are out of the office, I was given the go-ahead to leave the office early today. As long as someone is there to cover during business hours, our supervisor has told us we could take a few liberties with our schedules. I don't normally do this sort of thing, but I really (really, really, really, really) didn't want to be in the office today, surrounded by morons doing a job I am starting to loathe. So I left work at 1:30, having only been there 2½ hours.

I went to lend Dan a hand with his move into Keya's place. As I pulled into their driveway, I got a call on my cell phone: "We just finished up. Tubby's a good mover. You don't have to come." Oh well.

I was going to play basketball with some guys this evening at 6. I showed up and nobody was there. I started to call the guy who had invited me, when suddenly my phone alerts me that I have a voicemail message. I check, and the message informs me that basketball has been cancelled for tonight. I really am going to have to buy a new phone, for I am tired of calls going straight to voicemail all the time.

I was doing a random job search on the net this afternoon from work. (See opening paragraph for my thoughts on my job.) I found the perfect job: PHP developer -- experience developing websites with PHP, some knowledge of linux command line, Apache server, setting up databases, etc., a plus. I couldn't be better suited for this job. The kicker? "Please do not apply if you do not live in the Portland, OR, area."
