In my natural element

(no subject)

Keya and I went to see The Last Samurai tonight. It was much better than I expected. And I enjoyed listening to the Japanese, trying to see how much of it I remembered. (Very little.) But I did have one complaint. When they arrive in Yokohama harbor, the filmmakers felt the need to show Fuji-San in the background. Do they think all Americans are that dumb? Mt. Fuji is at least a couple of hours away by bullet train. We get that they're in Japan without having to resort to clichés. <sigh>

I gave myself my birthday present this afternoon. I have long wanted to have a massage that wasn't constrained by time, where the therapist kept working until everything that needed covering was covered, regardless of how long it took. So today I did just that. The massage lasted close to three hours, but my therapist gave me a birthday discount and only charged me for two.

If any of you on the South Shore are looking for a good (and friendly) massage therapist, let me know. I'd like to be able to send some referrals her way, since I don't know any other massage therapist who would be willing to be as flexible as she has been with me.
