Even more car woes

The garage just called again. They found something else. The plate for the shifter (the part the dealer supposedly fixed last summer) is broken into various pieces. It's not a mission critical piece; that is, I can survive without replacing it. However, that is what has been making my shifting somewhat difficult the past few months. The part only costs $30 to replace, but it has to be shipped in from Florida, so they wouldn't be able to do it today.

The mechanic and I struck a deal. I'll pick up my truck tonight. He'll order the part. I'll bring my truck back in a few days and leave it for a couple of hours so they can put the part in. The plate sits on top of the clutch assemblage, so there's not a lot that needs to come out; thus, he won't charge me extra labor. It'll just cost me a couple of hours of my time and $30 for the part.
