Wow! Just ... wow!

Someone asked me for my autograph today. Seriously.

I went to the Pulmonary Center today, and one of the lab technicians pulled out a Sharpie and a photocopy of the Merry Wives write-up that appeared in the Boston Globe a month or two ago and asked me to sign it for him.

I'm flattered, I guess, but it sure felt weird. I felt like, "Why are you asking for my autograph??? It's just me!" He seemed genuine and sincere, but really, it's just me!!! I'm hardly autograph-worthy.

Ah, maybe he's a speculator. You see, when you are not "just me" and are autograph-worthy, it might be worth oodles of money! :-)

This...is just...the beginning.

Sign me!
I had a similar experience at the gym a couple months back. A very nice woman (who, I latered learned, is a First Churcher) went on for some time about how much she enjoyed my performance in the One Acts. Which was really nice--but also veryvery weird. I was surprised that people actually showed up. Not that T@F isn't worth watching; it's just, you know, it was only me. Crazy like.

But if you're still set on being an international superstar, I suppose you'll have to get used to it. Maybe you could get Gilly to print a glossy of that pantless picture...

Re: Sign me!
Yes, I met someone at non-T@F party where there were no Firsties at all, and I was talking to a guy when suddenly he said "YOU'RE MISTRESS QUICKLY!!" I was drunk and also dressed a little slutty, so it was kinda weird. ;-)

I had the same moment earlier this year when I got asked for my photograph with my artwork.

That is so cool. :)

I've occasionally been asked to sign one of my music tapes or CDs. Usually it's just friends, but once in a while it's a total stranger.

Come to think of it, I really ought to get that CD up on CafePress.

That's pretty cool. I'm sure you enjoyed all the work and effort anyway, but that makes a nice punctuation mark on the experience.
