I would love to work somewhere where I'm not considered a computer expert. I know web design -- know it well -- and that's about it, really. I'm really tired of people asking me stupid questions and expecting me to do the impossible because I'm "a computer expert." "Hey, Derek, I opened one of those attachments and now my computer keeps crashing...what can I do?" "Derek, I keep getting hundreds of e-mails about opening an attached file for details...can you get them to stop?" "Derek, I haven't gotten e-mail in over two weeks...do something about it!" <sigh>

Now imagine your father doing it over the phone transatlantically.

I had no idea you read my father's journal.

I got that all the time at my last few jobs.
It didn't bother me most of the time, actually. Mostly 'cause I could take care of most of the non-major questions/problems. ["You're running Netscape 1.0. It just might be time for an upgrade, you dolt."]

I can take care of the problems most of the time. I just get increasingly frustrated with having the same stupid people ask me the same stupid questions all the time, when taking a minute to google it would prove far more helpful most of the time.
