Learning music without a keyboard, with only a pitch pipe and sometimes a recording, is not easy!

I sometime use a music software program (like Melody Assistant for the Mac) to input and play back tricky sections when I'm trying to learn music. When I'm really lucky, I can find a MIDI file of the piece the the program will import to save me the trouble. Don't know if that would work for you...

I actually have three recordings of one of the songs I'm currently trying to learn and one recording of the other two, so I know what they sound like. There's something about being able to play out the tricky parts on a keyboard, though, that really helps me.
