I left the house, with sunshine streaming down from the sky, in search of food. I decided best not to go to the supermarket in ravenous mode, so I ducked into a little hole-in-the-wall African restaurant. Had some weird (to me) Ghanaian dish, which was tasty as long as I convinced myself I didn't need to know what the mushy stuff consisted of.

When I left, all the telltale signs of an impending storm were evident: darkened skies, cool gusts of wind, drops in temperature and air pressure. I wondered if I could make it to the supermarket and back before the storm hit.

I ran through the supermarket getting only the bare essentials, as usual. (Lettuce, corn, scallions, and ham for a couple of salads; beef, chicken, snap peas, mushrooms, and carrots for four days' worth of stirfry; and a Greek-style yoghurt for breakfast.) As I stood in the checkout queue, I noticed rain falling outside. Crap!

But it magically ended as soon as I stepped outside. Now that I am safely (i.e., drily) home and my food is put away, the rumbles of thunder have begun.
