I just got back from the movies...

...and, yes, that timestamp is correct. I went to a 12:05 a.m. showing of LotR:RotK. And, despite the complete absence of any previews, the movie didn't let out until about 3:40. But it was completely worth it. I didn't notice it was so long. This "Ring Cycle" is a fantastic cinematic accomplishment. Unlike the guy behind me who was quibbling about this scene and that scene being left out, I was extremely satisfied. I understand the limitations inherent in transcribing such an epic from one medium to another. And -- heck! -- it's a three-and-a-half-hour movie as it is. What more can you ask for?! Jackson did a sublime job being faithful to the content and spirit of the books while simultaneously creating a cinematic masterpiece.
